Our goal is to successfully launch a rocket built and designed remotely by college students across the country. We hope to show others around the world that incredible things are possible with creativity and ambition, and that in executing a highly technical rocket launch, we can set a precedent for what's possible from today's young people.
Operation Space is not affiliated with any single university, company, or investor. Unlike most student-led rocket projects, we are a group focused on collaboration rather than competition, taking in the brightest and most creative minds from across the nation.
We were founded in May 2018 with few members and little rocketry experience. Soon, after contacting dozens of different aeronautical organizations, we had a team together. After scrapping the first iteration of our design, we got to work on the 2 separate 2-stage rockets now scheduled for launch. Early August was build week, where we assembled and tested the rocket at Vanderbilt University.
This mission is nothing without the incredible people behind it. See who's making all this happen.
