About Us

Our goal is to challenge ideas of what is possible from today's young people

and support the next generation of leaders, scientists, and entrepreneurs.

  • Our Goal

We aim to break the Karman Line at 330,000 feet and become the first student team to reach outer space. But our ambitions are much broader than a number.

  • How We're Different

Operation Space is not backed by any single university, company, or investor. Unlike most student-led rocket projects, we are a group focused on collaboration rather than competition, taking in the brightest and most creative minds from across the nation.

  • Our Timeline

May, June, and July of 2018 consisted of remote work amongst students- designing the rockets, researching components, and ordering parts. Early August was build week, where we assembled and tested the rocket at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Then, we'll be launching out of Spaceport America in New Mexico May 29 - June 1 2019.

  • Our Team

This mission is nothing without the incredible people behind it. See who's already on board.
