We aim to break the Karman Line at 330,000 feet and become the first student team to reach outer space. But our ambitions are much broader than a number.
Operation Space is not backed by any single university, company, or investor. Unlike most student-led rocket projects, we are a group focused on collaboration rather than competition, taking in the brightest and most creative minds from across the nation.
May, June, and July consisted of remote work amongst students- designing the rockets, researching components, and ordering parts. Early August was build week, where we assembled and tested the rocket at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Then, we'll be launching out of Spaceport America in New Mexico in May 2019.
This mission is nothing without the incredible people behind it. See who's already on board.
